Maine Motorcycle Community Events
Throughout the year, our law firm often sponsors a wide range of events in Maine for bikers and about bikers. Some of our most popular past and present events include:
United Bikers of Maine Statewide weekend
Our law firm has proudly been involved with this annual motorcycle event organized by United Bikers of Maine and held each August at the New Portland Fairgrounds in picturesque New Portland. Our law firm sponsors the Call Joe Statewide Stage at the annual event, which features live music and a variety of daily and nightly contests, including pit bike racing, bike show burnout competitions, tattoo contests, and a biker rodeo.
Joe Bornstein’s Rider Challenge
Another popular annual event, Joe Bornstein’s Rider Challenge is a location-based challenge held throughout the summer in Maine. In 2025, the second-annual Joe Bornstein’s Rider Challenge involved 16 locations – one in each county - from May 12 to August 31. To enter, riders simply need to take a photo of themselves with a Rider Challenge “Born to Ride” passport at one of the 16 locations. Each location offers a chance to win $250 and a chance to win a $1,000 grand prize. Popular Maine Motorcycle Routes
Motorcycling in Maine can be an amazing way to see some of the most beautiful parts of the state. Below, we have included some of our favorite motorcycling routes in Maine based on rides we have taken or rides recommended by experienced bikers we know in Maine.
Maine has some of the most beautiful roads for motorcycling, including:
- Historic Route 1 Coastal Route
This classic bucket list ride for many bikers starts at the Maine-Canada border in Fort Kent, Maine. From there, the Route 1 coastal route takes bikers 2,369 miles to the southern tip of Florida in Key West. - Rangeley Lakes Scenic Byway
This winding ride on State Route 17 and Route 4 takes bikers onto two scenic overlooks past lakes, mountains, and streams in this rugged western part of the state near Rangeley Lake. No wonder this winding route has been designated a National Scenic Byway. - Acadia National Park Loop
At 27 miles long, this route through Acadia National Park packs a lot of scenic spots into a short distance. The one-way road through Maine’s only national park takes bikers past mountains, rugged coastline, and through dense forests, plus popular park attractions like Cadillac Mountain and Thunder Hole, a dramatic rock formation where waves crash along the shore at high tide. - Northern Route 201
This scenic route follows US Route 201 through the Kennebec River Valley from Brunswick to the Canadian border. Known as the “Old Canada Route,” be prepared to see plenty of wildlife (especially moose) and small, charming Maine towns on this National Scenic Byway along portions of the Kennebec River.
