Joseph L. Bornstein
founded and established the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein
33 years ago on the Portland waterfront in the city's historic Old Port district.
Since then, Joe and the firm have represented more than 15,000 clients. A fervent
supporter of charitable organizations and education throughout the state of Maine,
Joe is also an active member of the Maine State Bar Association, the Maine Trial
Lawyers' Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Currently,
he is serving on the Leadership Group for the Maine Campaign for Justice.
Henri A. Benoit II graduated from Arizona State University, the University
of Maine School Of Law, and was admitted to the Maine and U.S. District courts
in 1985. Hank served as a Maine Superior Court clerk after law school graduation,
and joined the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein more than 20 years ago. His primary
area of practice is social security disability. Hank is a sustaining member of
NOSSCR (National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives)
and he is a founding member and co-chair of MOSSCR (the Maine Organization of
Social Security Claimants' Representatives). A member of the Maine State Bar
Association and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, he is also well known in
the youth soccer community in Maine, where he was a charter member of the
Portland Area Youth Soccer Association (PAYSA), and currently serves as a director.
Alan M. Harris is a graduate of the University of Maine and the University
Of Maine School Of Law. Alan joined the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein more
than 20 years ago and has specialized in injury and disability law,
including workers' comp, personal injury, and social security. Alan is a
published writer on the topic of product liability law, and for two years in
a row won the Legal Services Pro Bono Award for Penobscot County for taking
the most pro bono cases.
Anthony Irace is a Portland native and a graduate of Cheverus High School, the
University of Maine, and Western New England Law School, class of 1978. He is
a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association,
the Rotary Club of Portland, and a board member of the Cape Elizabeth High School
Football Boosters. Before joining the Law Offices of Joe Bornstein, he practiced
for 20 years with Lowry & Associates where he specialized in personal injury
and social security disability cases.
Tanna B. Whitman graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001,
and since has been admitted to practice law in Minnesota, Washington and Maine.
After law school Tanna served as law clerk to the Federal Magistrate in Duluth,
Minnesota, and then joined a Duluth plaintiff's firm practicing mainly in the areas of
workers' compensation and personal injury. Tanna is specializing in Social Security
disability law.
